Write Something Somewhere - The 2023 Write 28 Days Blogging Challenge

It's almost time for the 2023 Write 28 Days Blogging Challenge! The challenge is designed to help participating writers be disciplined about writing and posting, and as a bonus, we who participate become a supportive community of bloggers. I've done the challenge twice before and found it to be a truly positive experience. Yes, even though I didn't post an article every single day! As our hostess, Anita Ojeda, reminds everyone, there is no Write 28 Days police coming to check on you. It's self-discipline and it's meant to be encouraging.

Last year I chose a theme and worked within that theme for the 28-Day Series (which took me more than 28 days to complete and publish!) that turned out to be timely and helpful for me as life unfolded in 2022. You can read that series, 28 Days of Coping With Change, at Homeschool Coffee Break.

This year, I have thought and thought, but no distinct theme presented itself to me. So I've decided that I will focus on the actual discipline of writing every day and do my best to publish an article every day during February, but not worry about sticking to a theme that ties everything together. Another thing I'm going to allow myself to do is publish my Write 28 Days work on whichever of my three blogs each article is suited for. At the beginning of January, I decided to allow Homeschool Coffee Break to remain more focused on home education and to move all of my current writing that isn't specifically education-related to a new home here on A Fresh Cup of Coffee.

So while my Coping With Change theme was well-suited to what I was experiencing in February 2022, my Write Something Somewhere theme seems like it might be suited to what this February is like! Just do the next thing, and be open to whatever happens and make the best of it.

  1. I'm doing this challenge too, and it really will be a challenge! :) I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts - I have been wanting to write in more ways than my blogging, but have had writer's block.
