Wednesday Hodgepodge - Simply Chuffed

A hodgepodge is a jumble or assortment of things that might not appear to belong together. Joyce at From This Side of the Pond hosts a weekly link-up called Wednesday Hodgepodge that is a little collection of questions for bloggers to answer just for fun and to get to know each other. I always look forward to chatting with friends over coffee, so pour a cup of your favorite and let's visit for a few minutes!

Here are this week's questions - and my answers - for this week's Wednesday Hodgepodge.

1.  Something that's had you 'chuffed to bits' recently?

I was thrilled to pieces that my family members and some church friends came to the SVC show. And I'm also stoked because my parents are coming to visit next month.

2. Tell us about an instance recently where you were tempted to 'throw a wobbly' (expression used to describe tantrums thrown, usually by adults or people who should know better).

For me, it's when there's a series of little annoyances that annoy me. None of the things are very serious, but they kind of pile up and boy, is it tempting to just go OFF over something insignificant. Like a less than stellar day at work, then horrible traffic and delays on the drive home, rude people at the grocery store, come in the house and realize I forgot to get the 'one thing' I needed at the store, my feet hurt and I'm really tired but I have to make dinner . . . but we didn't do the dishes yesterday so I have to hunt for the pan I need . . . See? Nothing serious, just everyday stuff. But then if my husband makes a smart remark at dinner, I kind of want to pitch a fit. Thankfully I don't!

3. Something everyone seems to love but is not your 'cuppa tea'?

Football and basketball. The NFL doesn't interest me even a little bit, even though I always watch the SuperBowl. I don't care about college football either. They're trying to turn me into a Buckeyes fan here. I've got nothing against them, but I really don't care. And I care even less about basketball.

4. Fish and chips, bangers and mash, shepherd's pie, roast beef with Yorkshire pudding . . . which entree would you choose? Yes, you have to choose.

Easy choice! Fish and chips every time! If there's fish and chips on the menu, that's probably what I'll order.

5.  Something you want for your birthday this year?

Wind chimes. A steering wheel cover. Take me out to dinner, maybe somewhere I can have fish and chips! Actually, I always hope for a Tim Horton's coffee cup for Christmas or my birthday. (My birthday is right after Christmas) Or a travel cup. I'm always chuffed to get a Starbucks mug too, or anything coffee related.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

This is me on my way to work:

What are you chuffed about this week? Leave a comment and let me know!

  1. Our town´s Tim Hortons closed recently which was a shame. It was owned, not surprisingly, by former Canadians. How great that many people attended your choir show- I hope that it went well. May your commute today consist of green stoplights and great fellow drivers!

  2. I'm the same way with those little things piling up; that's when I'm most likely to blow. I actually don't "get" or enjoy watching most any sport!

    1. Weirdly, I DO like Canadian football, but we're so removed from it that we almost never watch that either. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, and here's hoping neither of us allow those little things to pile up and make us angry!
