At the beginning of each month I've been participating in the "Currently" link-up hosted at Overflowing With Thankfulness. Our hostess Jennifer posts a set of action verb prompts for the month and writers respond. So, without further ado, here are this month's prompts and what's happening currently . . .
***********
Loving - Things I'm loving right now include:
The adorable photos the kids share of our granddaughter:
Finding a bit more time to read.
A sunny day now and then!
Exploring interesting places in the area, like our recent trip to the Carillon Historical Park in Dayton.
Looking forward to - the weekend, and our little family SuperBowl party. Not because I give a rip about football, but it's fun to get together with people and eat lots of good food and critique the commercials and half-time show. We've been largely disappointed the last few years, honestly. But we have a good time together!
Doing to be romantic - Trying to go on more walks together again. I don't know if that's specifically romantic, but we haven't had the time or the appropriate weather to get out and explore walking trails recently.
I'm hoping to convince my husband that a trip to Cincinnati to see the Monet Immersive Art exhibit would be a good romantic thing to do. I'll let you know if I'm successful! He's negotiating a trade-off - he takes me to Monet if I go with him to the Brit Floyd concert later in spring. (I hate Pink Floyd so the concert isn't much of a treat for me at all, thus the negotiation.)
Changing - my health insurance very soon! It's open enrollment right now and my benefits will start in about a month, so I've got my fingers crossed that this will be a very positive change!
Also thinking I need to change my hair. I'm waaaaaaaaaaay overdue for a haircut, but I've also been thinking I might need to change the style a bit - something more wash and wear for everyday. I'm not interested in taking extra time to do my hair before work. I just want to run a brush through it and call it good, and that's not working out so great right now. First I have to get in touch with my hairdresser and see when she's available. Hopefully we can connect soon so I can get my hair back under control!
Celebrating - We just celebrated my daughter-in-law's birthday last week. My mom's birthday is coming up soon, but we won't be getting together to celebrate that - it will be me sending a card (which will inevitably get there late) and making a phone call. I guess we'll celebrate Valentine's Day somehow, though we haven't got anything planned yet.

Here's a very abbreviated version of the Coffee Break Reading list . . .
Reading - currently reading these:
Just finished The Juliet Code by Pepper Basham and need to get my review written.
More reading news and recent reviews are at Just A Second.

Quotable (I've enjoyed hunting up little quotes to add to my Five Minute Friday posts, and I do a weekly Wednesday Quotes post based on interesting quotes, but I've still got such a collection that I have to keep sharing them!):
Woke up this morning with a terrific urge to lie in bed all day and read. ~Raymond Carver
A moment of patience in a moment of anger prevents a thousand moments of regret. ~Ali ibn Abi Talib

Your granddaughter is a cutie pie! I enjoyed reading your answers and seeing your photographs. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThank you - I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment!
DeleteOh my - your granddaughter is a cutie! I love those pigtails!! I think talking walks together is great...and romantic!:)
ReplyDeleteI love the little pigtails - so cute! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteThat photo of your granddaughter with the pig tails is so cute! Good luck convincing your husband to take you to the immersive Monet; I was unsuccessful in trying to get anyone in my family to go. I just love Monet!
ReplyDeleteWe missed seeing the Van Gogh immersive art, which really disappointed me, so I'm hoping we can get Monet! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteOh, go to the Monet Immersive event by yourself if you have to! If it's the same as the one we had in Indianapolis, you won't regret it. It was even better than the VanGogh one. Of course, I love Pink Floyd so I wouldn't even need to negotiate on that one! Your granddaughter's pig tails are adorable (well, she is, too)!

If the Monet exhibit was close by, I would go by myself if I had to - of course, if it was in our city, I probably wouldn't need to negotiate much in order to go. But it's a little bit of drive to Cincinnati. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteI'm belatedly catching up on my "Currently" reading. Your granddaughter is a cutie! And I have been trying to go on more walks with my husband too!
ReplyDeleteSo far we haven't been very successful in going for more walks! It's been cold and he hasn't been feeling well, but hopefully we can get out again soon. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
