At the beginning of each month I've been participating in the "Currently" link-up hosted at Overflowing With Thankfulness. Our hostess Jennifer posts a set of action verb prompts for the month and writers respond. So, without further ado, here are this month's prompts and what's happening currently . . .
***********
Loving - the chance to see my family again! Three of the adult kids and the grandbaby are arriving later today and staying for the weekend, and I can hardly wait! We've missed them all so much! Later this month I'll be going to Maryland to visit all the adult kids that live there, and attend my daughter's senior recital. I hate that we don't all live right close to each other so we can see each other every week and be more involved with each other's lives, but at least we're close enough that long weekend trips are doable.
Hoping - for good weather all weekend. For the kids as they travel, and so that we aren't stuck inside during their stay here. Yesterday it rained all day and I'm tired of it.
Playing - catch-up with learning music for the chorus I'm joining. While the music is relatively new for everyone, I'm still the New Girl and not only learning the music that others have had for a bit longer, but I'm still trying to get oriented and feel comfortable and confident.
Needing - to get our driver's licenses and vehicle tags and everything switched over to Ohio! Still! A couple weeks ago I vowed this would get done by the end of March, and as it turned out we were advised to wait on our drivers' licenses until after our tax returns had been accepted, since the license numbers were used as ID. And of course I can't do the tags until we do the licenses . . . and I'm still waiting on one of the returns to be accepted. It's just getting quite ridiculous at this point. And by the way, I'm also needing to hear back from our tax guy because we have to submit some support documents . . . I have never hated taxes so much as I do this year. Sigh.
Feeling - more hopeful and positive overall. At times I wonder if I'll ever really feel at home here and find my place, but it is getting easier. Most of the time I still feel isolated and alone, and wish I had something to do and someone to do it with, but I guess I'll get there. I don't suppose the sense of loss and missing my family and friends and Maryland will ever go away, but I'm sure we'll eventually build some relationships here as well.
PS: Can I ask you to hop over to my review post for The Journey? Not only is it a truly beautiful movie with all the gorgeous music and scenery, but the promoters sponsored an Amazon gift card giveaway on each of the reviewer's blogs and mine still has really low entries. In other words, your chances are really good! Here's the post: The Journey: A Music Special from Andrea Bocelli (Review and Giveaway)

I'm hoping for good weather this weekend too! Enjoy your time with your family!
ReplyDeleteI hope you start to feel a sense of connection and solid relationships in Ohio. Moving is hard and making new friends is even harder, but have faith that it WILL happen.
