Welcome to another installment of my challenge and reminder to myself to take photos somewhat regularly. I'm not a photographer, but I enjoy taking everyday photos of things I find interesting or want to remember later, and I find that I notice interesting things when I'm intentionally watching for them. Having some prompts that are open to interpretation has helped me pay a little more attention to what's around me. Every two weeks I have a few words and phrases that I'm focusing on, and I try to find opportunities to take pictures of these things each week. These were the prompts I assigned myself for the past couple weeks:

doorway (quarterly) - this doesn't actually show my door, but was the scene right at the doorway on the morning we got our first snow of the season. I thought I'd have my wreath for the door by now, but haven't had a chance to go pick it out. The "Be Merry" sign is supposed to go beside the door, but I haven't figured out a way to secure it so it doesn't fall over every time it's windy.
selfie (quarterly) - someday I'll learn to take a selfie without looking like my smile is super fake. LOL
red
traditional - our Thanksgiving Day menu was mostly traditional.
lights - the menorah displayed at the holiday drone show
on top - so many mixed feelings on the first morning I walk out to find snow on top of my car!
A few more bonus photos:
I took a work selfie - safety orange is the new black. The joke was on me, just one week after I bought myself a safety orange hoodie to keep me warm AND visible at work, a manager told me the company was buying safety green hoodies for all staff. The orange is growing on me, to be honest. Haha.
We went to the tree lighting ceremony in New Albany again this year. As mentioned above, it included a holiday drone show, which we thought was pretty cool.
We made it to three hockey games over the past two weeks.
We dog-sat our son's dog over the Thanksgiving weekend, which gave me an opportunity to be super-irritated by all the unnecessary apostrophes in the sign at the dog park. I mean . . . why not also put one in the word "pets"? Misuse of apostrophes is one of my pet peeves.
We smoked the turkey this year and were very happy with how it turned out.
Scioto Valley Chorus did the first of three holiday caroling performances. It was cold!!
And our tree is up and decorated! Now I just need to start on my Christmas shopping!
I am sharing my photos every other Tuesday, along with my prompts for the next two weeks. You can use all or some of the prompts for your own photo posts, or none of the prompts and just link up a post featuring your photos. Simple rules: Your posts must be family-friendly; the photos must be your own; and the post must be mostly photos. If you do share I'd appreciate a mention and link to A Fresh Cup of Coffee on your post.
Everyday Images continues in 2024, every other Tuesday. And on the alternate Tuesdays, I'm hosting the Twenty-Six Lists link-up. I'd love to have you join me for that too!
