Everyday Images #40

Welcome to another installment of my challenge and reminder to myself to take photos somewhat regularly. I'm not a photographer, but I enjoy taking everyday photos of things I find interesting or want to remember later, and I find that I notice interesting things when I'm intentionally watching for them. Having some prompts that are open to interpretation has helped me pay a little more attention to what's around me. Every two weeks I have a few words and phrases that I'm focusing on, and I try to find opportunities to take pictures of these things each week. These were the prompts I assigned myself for the past couple weeks:

July Prompts - Everyday Images #40

loud and/or quiet

strong - well, how about these storm clouds from a strong storm system one day

loud and/or quiet - the carnival atmosphere was very loud (as were the fireworks), and in contrast, the wetlands park was pretty quiet.

at work (quarterly) - a view just outside my office door

free - Old Glory still represents freedom

design

wild - Black-eyed Susans are one of my favorite flowers, partly because they grow wild

I'm also participating in the Summer Photography Scavenger Hunt hosted by This West London Life, so some of these photos may reappear on my posts with scavenger hunt finds.

A few bonus photos:

More from a July 4th walk at the park, which was cut short by rain but was still very pleasant.

On the July 4th weekend, we visited a nearby town's carnival and our granddaughter enjoyed the rides.

I just thought the shadow of the tree on our apartment looked cool because it was so well-defined.

I am sharing my photos every other Tuesday, along with my prompts for the next two weeks. You can use all or some of the prompts for your own photo posts, or none of the prompts and just link up a post featuring your photos. Simple rules: Your posts must be family-friendly; the photos must be your own; and the post must be mostly photos. If you do share I'd appreciate a mention and link to A Fresh Cup of Coffee on your post.

Everyday Images continues in 2024, every other Tuesday. And on the alternate Tuesdays, I'm hosting the Twenty-Six Lists link-up. I'd love to have you join me for that too!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  1. I am so bad about taking photos. I have lots more now that I can use my phone, but I still don't take many. You take the best ones, and using a prompt is a wonderful idea!

    1. I'm not good about taking photos either, which is partly why I do this challenge! My photos certainly aren't the best, but I'm having fun with ith. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

  2. I really like the contrast between your photos for loud and quiet. And the shadow of the tree looks like a mural painted on the side of your apartment. A really detailed shadow.

So glad you are going to do the scavenger hunt, too!! I am hoping to share week 40 and 41 of everyday things with my first update for the scavenger hunt on 07.29. We leave for vacay that day (that rhymes) so I need to get my post all finished before hand. Thanks for the new prompts.
