Everyday Images #36

Welcome to another installment of my challenge and reminder to myself to take photos somewhat regularly. I'm not a photographer, but I enjoy taking everyday photos of things I find interesting or want to remember later, and I find that I notice interesting things when I'm intentionally watching for them. Having some prompts that are open to interpretation has helped me pay a little more attention to what's around me. Every two weeks I have a few words and phrases that I'm focusing on, and I try to find opportunities to take pictures of these things each week. These were the prompts I assigned myself for the past couple weeks:

sunrise and/or sunset - I didn't realize when I made the list of prompts that this was going to be difficult! Sounds crazy, but this time of year, the sun rises a bit before I'm waking up so I'm missing that, and the sunset is just late enough that I was missing good opportunities to get a photo. I will definitely be revisiting this prompt later in the year! So here's a night photo instead!

zigzag - I didn't think this would be hard either, but I struggled to find a zigzag pattern anywhere. When I received my latest Conqueror Challenge medal, I noticed that all the medals have a zigzag shape on the bottom.

connect - an artistic take on connecting the dots

And a few bonus photos:

This view in downtown Columbus caught my eye.

I had gone with my husband to a Brit Floyd show. I don't care for Pink Floyd music, to be honest, but the light show is really good and it was a good date night.

Received my latest Conqueror Challenge medal.

Volunteered with a few other chorus members at Race for the Cure.

Went to PirateFest and took a look around Buckeye Lake.

Had some fun at Timbuk Farms, satisfying my granddaughter's request for a playground and to see baby goats.

I am sharing my photos every other Tuesday, along with my prompts for the next two weeks. You can use all or some of the prompts for your own photo posts, or none of the prompts and just link up a post featuring your photos. Simple rules: Your posts must be family-friendly; the photos must be your own; and the post must be mostly photos. If you do share I'd appreciate a mention and link to A Fresh Cup of Coffee on your post.

Everyday Images continues in 2024, every other Tuesday. And on the alternate Tuesdays, I'm hosting the Twenty-Six Lists link-up. I'd love to have you join me for that too!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  1. I always forget that sunrise and sunset are so hard to capture this time of year too! You got some really lovely photos though. I love the pink ribbon at the park.

    1. It was one of hundreds of pink ribbons tied on trees and lamp posts downtown for the Race for the Cure. One of the jobs we had as volunteers was to pull all the ribbons off in our section of the race, which was kind of sad since they were so pretty. :-) Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

  2. I know most people really don't like Canada Geese, but I do. I think they're just so beautiful, and I always feel sad when I see a solitary one. Lately, we've been seeing lots of proud parents leading their goslings around. I'm happy when I see a long line of cars stopped waiting to let the little families pass. It reminds me/us that sometimes, you have to enjoy the little things.

    1. I like Canada Geese too, but they can cause quite a bit of trouble! The little ones are so cute though. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
