Twenty-Six Lists - Things To Do This Winter

This post may contain affiliate links - using affiliate links from A Fresh Cup of Coffee helps continue the coffee breaks and conversation.

Welcome to Twenty-Six Lists! I hope you'll join me in this simple link-up, where I share a writing prompt for some kind of list, and invite you to share what's on your list. Your list can be very simple or include lots of explanation; short or long; a bullet point list or essay style. Interpret the list prompts however you like, depending on how much time you have to spend, and how much background you'd like to share.

This time I'm inviting you to share a Things To Do List for Winter. Do you have projects you want to complete before spring? Tasks that you don't want to forget? Fun activities or creative pursuits you want to enjoy during this time of year? Any and all of these might be part of your list!

Here are some things on my list . . .

Things I NEED to do:

  • file taxes. Not fun but necessary.
  • come up with a budget. Also not fun but necessary.
  • menu plan so we can eat well.
  • clean and organize the spare room. Again. I keep putting things on the sofa "temporarily" for various reasons, but don't remove them.
Spare bedding not folded, and only the
blanket and pillow should be there! Random
papers and school things left there after last
week's class. Canvas bin I didn't put away.
At least it shouldn't take long to set right!

Things that are more fun!

  • learn new chorus music and figure out how to practice regularly
  • try some of the restaurants on our list
  • adventures with family as we have opportunities and ideas
  • go for walks. Need just the right conditions though - clear, not too cold or windy, and on a Saturday or Sunday when we have time.

  • read some books! I've got so many on my list and I've really had trouble finding both time and motivation to read. I just finished a great new book called The Crumbs Off Heaven's Table by D.M. Griffin and need to get my review posted. And I'm working on another excellent review book - The Juliet Code by Pepper Basham - and I have several books on my nightstand just calling my name!

  •  grade papers and stay on top of my lesson plans. This is something I like doing but again, having a bit of a struggle adjusting my schedule so I don't wind up doing it last minute or feeling rushed.
  • blogging. I enjoy this hobby but I need to be careful of how much time I spend and that it doesn't take away from other things that I need to be doing.

What's on your winter to-do list? Please share!

The link-up is open for two weeks, with a new prompt every other Tuesday. I'd appreciate a link back to A Fresh Cup of Coffee if you join in.

  3. Hi there, not sure if blogging is in the stars for me in 2024. But if so, I would like to join your list making link-ups. I love a good list. And we have missed my seasonal bucket list making so I think PC would applaud me for creating one for winter.

I enjoyed writing lesson plans, too. But we like to write. I don't know if I would feel the same way about doing it if I didn't.

My upstairs guest bed is the catchall for my ironing. And it is piled high. Today is ironing day.

  4. Ugh! I don't even want to think about taxes... it's always so stressful making sure I have everything and I'm no missing anything important. As a bonus I get to help 2 of the boys with their filing as well. :)

    1. I'm expecting taxes to be stressful again this year, but nearly so much as they were last year! At least there is only one employer and residence in 2023 and nothing too complicated, so all I have to do is figure out the local and state taxes. Thanks for stopping by and sympathizing! ;-)

  5. I liked your list. I could blog all day every day...lol. And I love going around and commenting and find myself thinking "I need more time". I too need to be sure to not let it consume me too much, though it is such a joy for me.

  6. I like your second list better! I didn't realize you were still teaching and working full-time! Sometimes, those spare rooms are more trouble than they're worth, right? Mine usually end up being catch-alls. I try hard to keep them neat, though. Thanks for the link up! I invite you (if you have time) to link up at my Final Fridays link party.

    1. I LOVE having a spare room, even though it doubles as my "office". Having a guest room was one of my life goals for a long time, like that's how I'd know I'd arrived as a homeowner or something like that. Haha! But of course, I have to keep it tidy too. Thanks for stopping by and commenting - and for linking up!
