Everyday Images - March 2023

I thought I'd do a separate photo album post to sum up the month of March, since when I did my Everyday Images post last week, it was a bit rushed. So some of these you may have seen before!

I think we had both "lion" and "lamb" weather right at the beginning of the month, and throughout the month, actually.

We went to a couple of Columbus Blue Jackets hockey games, including one against the St Louis Blues which is one of my favorite teams.

We got prism type glasses from the science center as a promo at one of the games, so we had fun with those when our granddaughter came to visit the next day.

Daylight Savings Time. I sure wish we could stop doing this. To add insult to injury, that Sunday morning we had snow.

But we spent that afternoon at the Columbus Museum of Art which was fun. (See more about that field trip on my homeschool blog: A Museum of Art PhotoJournal)

On another snowy day, the trees were trimmed, and I hoped that would mean spring had actually arrived.

I think we're feeling pretty well settled here and this place feels more like home. I still miss my Maryland home and all my Maryland people though, and I'm sure I always will!

On another Sunday afternoon, we visited Blendon Woods Metro Park to see if there were any signs of spring. The daffodils were blooming, and we saw some birds.

I went back to the park a couple days later when there was a guided walk to look for wildflowers. The ones that were blooming already were mostly very small, which explains why we'd missed many of them on our first visit.

This is a trillium just about ready to bloom.

The woods seemed mostly brown and dry, but these little wildflowers were popping up in various places, and many of the trees had green buds. There were also these clumps of green leaves. From a distance they look almost like tulip leaves. I found out they are wild onions, which are called ramps here.

We even came across wild turkeys, about half a dozen. I managed to get a sort of clear picture of this tom.

Has spring arrived in your neck of the woods? Leave a comment and let me know!

  3. The photo captures her well with the glasses. Can only imagine since kids get so excited. Miss having little ones and their enthusiasm. We've only really had two snows this season, which is strange for winter time. Now it's the terrible wind and threats of tornado. Enjoyed seeing your March. Thanks for sharing.
