Get my desk and all its piles cleaned up so I am in a better position to stay organized in 2025. Of course there are lots and lots of things I want and need to do, but this was the first one that popped into my head as I sit here at my extremely untidy desk!
There were so many things! I think having all the family together for a summer vacation was the best. Also spending time with all the kids and the grands while my parents were here. I'm so glad we will all be together for Christmas this year!
3. What do you like on a cracker? Do you have a favorite cracker variety?
Just cheese. Cheese and salami or pepperoni. Cream cheese and pepper jelly. Peanut butter. My favorite crackers are Ritz crackers.
Not sure, because we haven't nailed down exactly what we're doing with family, but my husband and I are seriously considering going to the Blue Jackets game on New Years Eve. We hear they have fireworks after the game! But we'll still have time to get home well before midnight, depending on traffic, I guess. Last year our son's family came over for New Years Eve and stayed for the night and for New Years Day brunch, so maybe we'll do that again.
Not only am I typically awake at midnight on New Years Eve, I'm typically awake at midnight almost every night of the year.
Work. Sing. Hope.
One day this week when I opened up the YouVersion website to look for a Bible passage rather than looking at my reading plans, I was surprised to find that my default language had changed to this:As I was getting this ready late on Tuesday, I asked myself if I'd ever gone back to comment on the previous week's Hodgepodge participants, and I hadn't! YIkes!! So I'll have to catch up on a few of those, and promise to do better this week and in the new year.
Is it Nepali? I know it's a southeast Asian language but why it had changed to this I couldn't say. It looks beautiful anyway. But I guess I don't have the gift of reading in tongues so I figured out how to change it back to English!
Are you ready for Christmas or Hanukkah or the holiday you celebrate? Leave a comment and let me know!
I am not ready for Christmas yet. I have purchased all the gifts we will be giving, but have yet to wrap any. I'm not sure why I keep pushing it off.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not alone in putting things off, and I don't know why I've procrastinated so long either! As of today, and thanks to Amazon, I'm just about done although I haven't wrapped anything! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteI love all your family pics!!
ReplyDeleteI was in Boston last New Year's Eve and actually awake for once. Ever since I turned 60 I've been nodding off before the stroke of midnight. hahah
I've never had pepper jelly. but i do love peppers!
That's funny about the Bible app and the different language popping up.I sent a text this week to a friend and somehow PART of it was in French. She knows I speak French (badly) and am re-learning it via duolingo but the text was hilarious cause my keyboard and settings on my iphone were all in english. It's a puzzle!
I hope you have a very merry Christmas and head into the new year all nice and clutter free on your desk. :)
Oh how funny about the French text! We are using Duolingo as well, and sometimes I take screenshots of the silly sentences and share them. I'm learning German, my husband is learning Spanish, and my daughter is learning French. So far our keyboards are remaining in English though! Thanks for the holiday wishes and for taking the time to comment!
DeleteI enjoyed your answers and photos. I agree 100% with "Cleaning is just putting stuff in less obvious places (and then wondering where you put them.) Definitely true in our home. lol Have a great holiday!
ReplyDeleteThat has always been true in my home so that's why that one resonated with me! LOL Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteYou truly are a night owl!! Staying up until midnight most nights is impressive :). I like saying about cleaning and all of your family pictures- you made a lot of great memories with your kids and parents!
ReplyDeleteI can't bring myself to go to bed early, no matter how early I must get up in the morning. It's a problem! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteI am a night owl too. That saying is so funny about organizing. That is nice that you still have your parents and how special for your grand. I have my gifts, just need to wrap which I plan to do this weekend while watching Christmas movies like White Christmas. Enjoy the rest of you week!
ReplyDeleteI'm planning to finish wrapping on the weekend too, but I wish I hadn't left it so late because I like to see wrapped gifts sitting under the three. We watched White Christmas last week - it's one of my all-time favorties! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteI should probably clean up my desk too!
ReplyDeleteMy husband mentioned that I should make it a priority to clean up my desk, so you KNOW it's in bad shape! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteI had to smile at the cleaning up gif and trying to remember where you put it. Oye. That is happening more and more around here. Wonderful family togetherness photos! It's so good to intentionally get together. A very Merry Christmas to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteThat gif describes me cleaning and organizing style pretty accurately! LOL Hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas as well!
DeleteThese are the kinds of post that bring a smile to my face. I love to see happy family photos and things that make people happy. Don't you wish there was a central place where you could say to all the bloggers you follow..."hey, life is getting ahead of me right now. I'll be around as soon as I can." I sure wish there was one because I'm so behind that I'm not sure I'll ever catch up!

Yes! It would be helpful if there was a universal announcement board like that! It feels selfish to put the note on my blog because that assumes people are visiting me even if I'm behind on visiting them!
DeleteI'm so glad you enjoyed this happy post - it made me happy to revisit those photos and memories! Thanks for stopping by and commenting, and I hope you have a blessed Christmas!
