Welcome to another installment of my challenge and reminder to myself to take photos somewhat regularly. I'm not a photographer, but I enjoy taking everyday photos of things I find interesting or want to remember later, and I find that I notice interesting things when I'm intentionally watching for them. Having some prompts that are open to interpretation has helped me pay a little more attention to what's around me. Every two weeks I have a few words and phrases that I'm focusing on, and I try to find opportunities to take pictures of these things each week. These were the prompts I assigned myself for the past couple weeks:

at work (quarterly) - so no, this photo was not taken AT work, but it's my lunch and stuff ready to take to work. My desk and all doesn't look any different from last quarter, really, but I'm now working full time and the adjustment to the hours is still kicking my butt! So overall not as many photos this time around!
clouds
written - this pretty quilt was a Christmas gift from my daughter, and it has the first verse of the hymn "Amazing Grace" written on it.
one - Almost stumped myself with this prompt, but this wonderful coffee gifted to us from my husband's Honduran intern has the number on it, so it works!
corner - I think this snowflake light was meant to be a Christmas tree topper, but it's a bit heavy. I'm using it as sort of a nightlight to brighten up a corner of our upstairs hallway, and it's staying there all winter.
listen - we had a real challenge getting Merida to come out and spend time with our granddaughter. She was hiding under the sofa (thus the poor lighting!) but you could tell she was listening to me trying to coax her out.
And a few bonus photos:
The Christmas tree and most decorations came down on January 6th. A couple of items stayed out for a little longer, just because I was enjoying them.
From the pretty gift bag our Honduran coffee came in:
Finally the snow arrived! Unfortunately, so did a cold snap! The last couple days have been very cold and windy.
I am sharing my photos every other Tuesday, along with my prompts for the next two weeks. You can use all or some of the prompts for your own photo posts, or none of the prompts and just link up a post featuring your photos. Simple rules: Your posts must be family-friendly; the photos must be your own; and the post must be mostly photos. If you do share I'd appreciate a mention and link to A Fresh Cup of Coffee on your post.
Everyday Images continues in 2024, every other Tuesday. And on the alternate Tuesdays, I'm hosting the Twenty-Six Lists link-up. I'd love to have you join me for that too!

We sing a version of Amazing Grace at our adult Bible Study on Thursday nights that I just love. I really think that star could stay up all year as it guides you in the dark. And, this cold snap has me almost convinced I need to move somewhere warmer...except those places are so hot in the summer. So, I just bundle up under lots of covers and wear lots of layers.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful rest of the week, Kym!

The star/snowflake will stay until Easter or so. Then I'm going to see if I can find a more spring-y "nightlight". I agree, I've had enough cold now!!

Those are great photos; I love your new "nightlight." The snowflake is so pretty and your cat is adorable.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm enjoying those indoor snowflakes right now - because they aren't cold and I don't have to shovel them! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
DeleteI love to see your snow! And also the snow crystal en light
ReplyDeleteThe snow really is pretty, I have to admit. I'd be glad if it would warm up just a bit though! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
