Welcome to another installment of my challenge and reminder to myself to take photos somewhat regularly. I went through past photo challenges and came up with a list of prompts at the beginning of the year and am trying to find opportunities to take pictures of these things each week. These were the prompts I assigned myself for the past couple weeks:
December Prompts - Everyday Images #24
~~~~~
house (quarterly)
lights
tree
sparkle
plant (quarterly)
workspace (quarterly)
house (quarterly) -
lights - Since I had so many choices for this prompt, I've chosen a couple to share. The first is not a good quality photo, but we were so impressed with the holiday display in Newark as we drove through. The other two were taken at the Dawes Arbortetum Winter Wonderland.
tree -
sparkle - I tried to capture to sparkle of the lights and the snowflake ornaments on my tree.
plant (quarterly) - that begonia did not survive, sadly. This ivy wreath is the official replacement.
workspace (quarterly) - Not much is changed in how the space looks. I haven't even removed those unevenly placed boxes and frames on the wall that bother me! Maybe I'm getting used to them.
And a few bonus photos:
Added a couple of new ornaments to the tree:
And realized that I never did bring my tree topper when we moved, so my husband suggested this substitute:
Some of the poinsettia varieties at the greenhouse - which color is your favorite?
A few more shots from this year's walks to see holiday light displays:
Wishing you and yours a blessed Christmas and very happy holiday season!
I am sharing my photos every other Tuesday, along with my prompts for the next two weeks. You can use all or some of the prompts for your own photo posts, or none of the prompts and just link up a post featuring your photos. Simple rules: Your posts must be family-friendly; the photos must be your own; and the post must be mostly photos. If you do share I'd appreciate a mention and link to A Fresh Cup of Coffee on your post.
I'll be continuing Everyday Images in 2024, every other Tuesday, beginning on January 2nd. And on the alternate Tuesdays, beginning on January 9th, I'm bringing back a link-up idea from a few years ago, Twenty-Six Lists. I'd love to have you join me for that too!
2023 Wrap-Up - Everyday Images #25
~~~~~
From December 20th to January 2nd, share a post with collages of the quarterly posts, or a post with a favorite photo from each month of 2023. Or both!

Your tree is beautiful! Red poinsettias are my favorite, but the others are beautiful too. Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteI prefer the red ones too, but the hot pink and bright white ones are growing on me! Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Merry Christmas!
DeleteWhat a great link-up idea! I love this, Kym - I will try to remember to join in next year :) Love all your holiday photos here - beautiful!

Glad you like it and I would love to have you join in! Thanks for stopping by and commentng!
DeleteLove your Christmas photos and your prompts. I need to try harder to do this in the coming year with some prompts as well as my link up. I have gotten photography lazy lately with my move and life. Always enjoy visiting your site.
ReplyDeleteMoving and life changes certainly get in the way of routines and other pursuits. I'm always glad to have you visit here, and I'm glad you stopped by today!
DeleteOh, I would have to be really disciplined to do this! But, maybe it would be a good thing for me to do it. I will think on it.
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas tree topper is perfect, I think! And, I have turned into a plant murderer, too. I used to have a green thumb, but it's definitely turned a shade of black lately!
Have a wonderful Christmas, Kym!
