I'm participating in the Wednesday Quotes link-up hosted by Marsha at Always Write, and there was a choice for this week's prompt―either "well matched" or "tiny". Or both, I suppose. I found myself leaning towards well-matched, partly because I started thinking ahead to a post I've been planning to celebrate our anniversary. I think my husband and I are well-matched. My quotes also reminded me about being well-matched with friends and colleagues, and the joy and satisfaction that comes from that companionship.
Great love isn't two people finding the perfect match in one another. Great love is two people making the choice to be a match. ~Lysa Terkeurst
I'm not looking for the perfect person. I'm looking for the perfect match. ~Michael Datcher
With some, we're certain our hearts must have been acquainted, long before we ever met them. ~Shakieb Orgunwall
To discover a kindred spirit is to find your heart in the heart of a friend. ~Ann Parrish
As soon as I thought about describing well-matched friends as kindred spirits, I also thought of Anne of Green Gables. Anne's delight in finding kindred spirits is memorable. I loved the Anne stories when I was a young girl and have enjoyed rereading them as an adult. It was so fun to visit Prince Edward Island several years ago and see the settings for the stories.

Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world. ~Lucy Maud Montgomery
A bosom friend - an intimate friend, you know - a really kindred spirit to whom I can confide my inmost soul. ~Lucy Maud Montgomery
True friends are always together in spirit. ~Lucy Maud Montgomery
When you have those kinds of relationships with friends or family members, it's an incredible blessing. I'm so grateful for the well-matched friendships I have, with family and with friends. And like Anne, I'm glad that distance doesn't really end those friendships, and I'm hopeful that there are yet more kindred spirit friendships to be discovered.
Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their efforts. For if either falls, his companion can lift him up; but pity the one who falls without another to lift him up. Also, if two lie down together, they can keep warm; but how can one person alone keep warm? And if someone overpowers one person, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not easily broken.
~Ecclesiastes 4:9-12~
Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.
~I Peter 3:8~
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.
~Philippians 2:1-2~

I always like to include some humorous quotes. Here's one from one of my favorite authors, Bill Bryson, and I think he's on to something with this observation:
For a long time it puzzled me how something so expensive, so leading edge, could be so useless. And then it occurred to me that a computer is a stupid machine with the ability to do incredibly smart things, while computer programmers are smart people with the ability to do incredibly stupid things. They are, in short, a perfect match. ~Bill Bryson
I'll close with a classic punny quote from the Veggie Tales movie "Moe and the Big Exit", which was honestly the first quote about being well-matched that came to mind!
Some matches are made in phosphorous factories, while others are made in heaven. Either way, it all starts with a little chemistry. ~VeggieTales
