Currently . . . June 8, 2023

At the beginning of each month I've been participating in the "Currently" link-up hosted at Overflowing With Thankfulness. Our hostess Jennifer posts a set of action verb prompts for the month and writers respond. So, without further ado, here are this month's prompts and what's happening currently . . .

***********

Loving - I'm having a bit of trouble answering this one right now! I don't know if I'd go so far as to say I "love" this, but I think it's very cool that we have a pool to use here. We've only been over there one time, and I'm really not much of a swimmer, but it's a nice option to have available, and we've told our son that they can come over any time this summer to use it because our granddaughter loves the water. I'm anticipating a good time with my daughter this weekend too, so I know I will be loving that!

Doing - a little planning for the weekend. Our daughter and her boyfriend are coming for a visit, and we have a few suggestions and ideas but other than the concert they will be going to, we haven't figured out anything definite. I have a to-do list for today that includes some housekeeping items to prepare for their arrival, and some items to look after so I don't have to worry about them over the weekend!

Trying - to find a part-time job, and getting a bit discouraged. I am being a bit picky about what I'm interested in, but still. I want something to get me out of the house and interacting with people occasionally, and just to give me something to do, plus having a bit of extra income would be very handy. I've found a couple of opportunities, but seem to be stalled in moving to the next step of setting up interviews.

Also trying to put together a book review link party I'm getting started over at my book blog. I'm thinking of having it open for a month at a time, and inviting bloggers to share and comment on each other's book reviews. Someone mentioned awhile ago, and I've observed it too, that we book bloggers share teasers and reading lists and other book related things readily in link-ups and comment on them, but we don't share and comment on actual book reviews very often. I got to thinking it might be nice to have a link party for that express purpose. I'm a very minor player in the book blogging space, but I'm going to give this idea a try and see what happens.

Coming soon to Just A Second:

Seeing - what's next in our quest to finally get our car registered and tagged in Ohio. We finally got our drivers licenses. Well, my husband's is still in mail limbo, but hopefuly will show up today. It's embarrassing that it's taking us so long to get this done, but between my procrastination and all the snags and delays along the way . . . Sigh.

Reading - I'm somewhere in the middle of these books right now:

A Perilous Perspective by Anna Lee Huber

I'm listening to this audiobook:

A Man With One of Those Faces by Caimh McDonnell

I'm about to start reading:

Man of Shadow and Mist by Michelle Griep

  1. I think a book review blog party sounds fun! I do write up a monthly summary post with all the books I've been reading with a quick summary and what I thought of it. Enjoy your weekend with your daughter and her boyfriend and good luck on the continued job search!

    1. I hope you'll check out the blog party once I get it running. The kids arrived late last night so I'm looking forward to a fun day ahead! Thanks for the positive comments!
