I love the history and how it underscores the bold faith and resolve that brought about its founding, the reliance on God and on each other, and commitment to individual freedoms. While America isn't perfect, and we have challenges and conflicts, it is still the greatest country on earth, and there isn't any other place with the same promise of individual rights, freedoms, and opportunities. God bless America!
This is a toss-up between God Bless America and America the Beautiful. I love them both. I don't know that they are patriotic, exactly, but I also love songs like Take Me Home Country Roads and Proud to Be An American and many others like them. I've paid only a very little attention to the World Cup, but I absolutely love that Take Me Home Country Roads has become the anthem of the tournament! It's always been one of my favorite sing-along songs!
3. Red, white, or blue? Stars or stripes? Something you own besides a US flag with some combination of those colors or decorations as part of its design?
Blue is usually my pick for most things. Stars or stripes kind of depends - I prefer stars. I have some patriotic decor that is inspired by the US flag but isn't it exactly. Also this fun "Red Wine and Blue" wall hanging that was included with a patriotic themed wine basket I won in a raffle awhile back. I saved it as a "housewarming gift"
Trying to decide between rest and connection, though I could also make a case for wanting more confidence. I also gravitate towards wanting more rest because it seems like I always have one more thing to do and I often don't manage my time well to include appropriate rest times. And on top of it, I don't often sleep well. Connection, because I want to be able to spend time with family and friends as much as possible. And confidence, because I'm currently feeling like I'm behind on learning the choreo moves for chorus, and I need to catch up and feel confident in how I'm doing.
If memory serves, I did a lot of bike riding as a young kid. We spent a lot of time playing outside, and our family vacations were often camping trips. I spent a lot of time at a campfire, but of course it was my Dad that build and tended the fires! Whether my neighborhood or a campground somewhere, I did go for a lot of walks and wanders. I do not ride a bike any more at all, and haven't for many years. I do like to go for walks and hikes and wanders though. I don't know that it makes me feel like a kid overall, but I get bursts of nostalgia sometimes, especially at a campfire.
I still don't have the desktop computer fixed and have been relying on my chromebook for almost everything. I also haven't had time to spend doing much of anything computer related and I'm starting to wonder when I'll get "caught up"! Needless to say, it's probably more important that I stay on top of my banking and other responsibilities during my computer times!
