At the beginning of each month I've been participating in the "Currently" link-up hosted at Overflowing With Thankfulness. Our hostess Jennifer posts a set of action verb prompts for the month and writers respond. So, without further ado, here are this month's prompts and what's happening currently . . .

Loving - Things I'm loving right now include:
All the Christmas-y things! Music, decorations, lights, and the anticipation of getting together with family and friends in just a couple of weeks. Oh, and Christmas movies, though I haven't had much time to sit down and watch yet. My very favorite ones are It's A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol (starring Alistair Sim), and White Christmas. The first two we save to watch on Christmas Eve, though I'm never opposed to watching them earlier as well!
Hoping - to make some serious headway on my Christmas shopping in the next few days. Other than looking through my family's wishlists and making some plans of what I want to do, I really haven't done much. I mean, the tree is up now, so I do have a place to put the wrapped gifts as I get them ready!
Doing - holiday activities! We're cramming the weekends full with holiday things (in a good way) and some on weekdays too. We discussed with our son and his wife a couple weeks ago that we should plan ahead which holiday activities we wanted to do all together and decide when to do those so we didn't wind up getting to Christmas Eve and realizing we'd missed some things we really wanted to do. This weekend we are going to the cookie walk in Pataskala, and to see the Winter Wonders Walk at the Dawes Arboretum. We went to the cookie walk the past two years, but I was carolling with the chorus while the family collected all the cookies. This year the chorus isn't carolling there so it will be a bit more relaxed and I'll be able to visit all the stops together with the family. On Sunday hubby and I are going to one of the big drive-thru light displays with a church group.

A couple of photos from the State House Tree Lighting Open House I went to on Thursday evening - Scioto Valley Chorus performed a holiday package there.
Wearing - warm clothes! We've had a bit of a cold snap, so I've been choosing long sleeved t-shirts AND wearing my (very fashionable) neon hoodies at work. Other than holiday earrings, I really haven't started wearing Christmas-y clothes yet, which is fine since I only have two sweaters. I saw a cute sweater at BJs this week that really tempted me, but I decided to think on it a bit more.
Seeing - the light displays! I love holiday light displays, and just driving through neighborhoods to see how people have decorated their houses and yards.

Quotable (I've enjoyed hunting up little quotes to sprinkle into my posts, and I host a regular Wednesday Quotes link party based on interesting quotes, but I've still got such a collection that I have to keep sharing them!):
The very fact of snow is such an amazement. ~Roger Ebert
I like to compare the holiday season with the way a child listens to a favorite story. The pleasure is in the familiar way the story begins, the anticipation of familiar turns it takes, the familiar moments of suspense, and the familiar climax and ending. ~Fred Rogers
Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time. ~Laura Ingalls Wilder
Consider this your invitation to stop by the current link-up and join us: WQ - Celebrating the Holiday Season. The link-up is open for two weeks, and the next one will open on December 10th, with the theme "Winter Wonderland"
