For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
~I Thessalonians 4:16-18~

Our blessed hope!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be awesome to still be alive and be among those in that part. What a glorious sight that will be. Maybe those in Heaven will have an eye's view to the event. Some days in our current world, I think that event must not be too far away. God Bless our America and the people all over the world.
ReplyDeleteIt occurred to me as I read that we try to "encourage one another" with such weak and inconsequential things.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever really appreciated that THIS is what we're to encourage other with - that we will be together with the Lord forever! That is a different kind of encouragement from the "you've got this" type we use and hear so often.
DeleteWhat a powerful and hope-filled passage! I love how these verses remind us that no matter what we face here on earth, we have the promise of being with the Lord forever. Such a beautiful encouragement to keep our eyes on Jesus and to live with eternity in mind. Thank you for sharing this today...it blessed me!
