Everyday Images #64

Welcome to another installment of my challenge and reminder to myself to take photos somewhat regularly. I'm not a photographer, but I enjoy taking everyday photos of things I find interesting or want to remember later, and I find that I notice interesting things when I'm intentionally watching for them. Having some prompts that are open to interpretation has helped me pay a little more attention to what's around me. Every two weeks I have a few words and phrases that I'm focusing on, and I try to find opportunities to take pictures of these things each week.

current season (quarterly) - perhaps a bit fanciful, but this doorway vignette at the Lavender Festival seems like a great representation of the season. Summer opening up before us, and beautiful growing things even with a cloudy sky.

strong - I had a tough time with this prompt. Maybe this cardinal sculpture? It seems pretty sturdy and strong.

And a few bonus photos:

My hairdresser has been working at a barbershop ― like a vintage, next-door-to-the-VFW barbershop ― so that's where I go for her to cut my hair. The antique barber chair is displayed in the shop window, but the chairs we actually sit in go back a few decades too, I suspect. It's like stepping back in time.

Hubby went along and got his hair cut that Saturday as well, and then we went for a short walk along the river before getting lunch at a barbecue place.

This past weekend we took a look around the garden center for Lavender Fest.

Strawberries & Cream hydrangeas - aren't
they gorgeous? I wish I had a place to
plant them.

I need a backyard with a campfire set-up like this. Although
I'll probably choose a different color for my chairs.

We're looking after our son's dog this week, and last night we had to wait out some heavy rain before we could go outside for a little walk and potty break.

She was very good and patient though. Isn't she a pretty girl?

I am sharing my photos every other Thursday, along with my prompts for the next two weeks. You can use all or some of the prompts for your own photo posts, or none of the prompts and just link up a post featuring your photos. Simple rules: Your posts must be family-friendly; the photos must be your own; and the post must be mostly photos. If you do share I'd appreciate a mention and link to A Fresh Cup of Coffee on your post.

Everyday Images will continue in 2025, every other Thursday, and the link-up is open for two weeks.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  4. I am still working on my photos post for May and now I am about to be more behind as we say goodbye to June. Yikes. Had a laugh that you get stuck with some of the prompts - like strong!! I don't think I have a photo for strong either!! Love the Lavendar Fest photos. And the little firepit area with the lavendar chairs. PC loves purple but I am not sure I would go for purple patio chairs. That hydragea is incredible. I would love to try to grow hydrageas - my grandmother had them - but they don't do well here. Boo.

    1. It's so easy to feel like we're getting behind and that time is going by too quickly - I'm there too!
Yes, always entertaining when I stump myself with my own prompts. LOL I guess I don't want them to be TOO easy?!
I agree the purple chairs might be a bit much for my backyard. Assuming I had a backyard. Hydrangea has never been one of my favorites, but some of the colors - like those strawberry and cream - are so gorgeous I'd love to have some of my own.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

  5. Finally have my post finished!! Ha!! Linking up. Sure enjoyed your photos. The 'entrance' to the lavender fest was so dreamy. I bet it smelled good, too.
