Everyday Images #35

Welcome to another installment of my challenge and reminder to myself to take photos somewhat regularly. I'm not a photographer, but I enjoy taking everyday photos of things I find interesting or want to remember later, and I find that I notice interesting things when I'm intentionally watching for them. Having some prompts that are open to interpretation has helped me pay a little more attention to what's around me. Every two weeks I have a few words and phrases that I'm focusing on, and I try to find opportunities to take pictures of these things each week. These were the prompts I assigned myself for the past couple weeks:

a bird's eye view of the 'yard'?

branch

purple - pretty sure these are Virginia bluebells, but they're almost purple, in my opinion.

river

town - you can see a little bit of the Columbus skyline beyond the field.

And a few bonus photos:

One more visit to see the eagles before the trees are fully in leaf.

This large beautiful home is right across the river from the park where we watch the eagles.

Went to a baseball game on May 1st. The weather was perfect for it.

Momma Duck update:  We've been keeping an eye on Jemima Puddle-Duck and she's been doing a great job patiently sitting her nest.

I was so hoping the ducklings would hatch on the weekend so we'd be around to watch. Well, we weren't that lucky. But as I was leaving (in a hurry!) for chorus last night, I did a quick duck-check and there were ducklings!!! I was so excited, and called my husband to come see. I've never been a grandma to ducklings before! I hope I get a chance to see them one more time before they're all off to the pond.

I am sharing my photos every other Tuesday, along with my prompts for the next two weeks. You can use all or some of the prompts for your own photo posts, or none of the prompts and just link up a post featuring your photos. Simple rules: Your posts must be family-friendly; the photos must be your own; and the post must be mostly photos. If you do share I'd appreciate a mention and link to A Fresh Cup of Coffee on your post.

Everyday Images continues in 2024, every other Tuesday. And on the alternate Tuesdays, I'm hosting the Twenty-Six Lists link-up. I'd love to have you join me for that too!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  2. Our neighbor had a mama duck lay eggs under one of their bushes. After the eggs hatched, the ducklings stayed around for quite a few days. It was cute to see the mama duck leading them around.

    1. I wish the pond was a little closer so we could watch the ducklings, but I guess it's a good motivator to go for regular walk! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

  3. I like the idea of everyday images with a set theme. I took a photo of my garden each month a couple of years ago to post on my blog. I must do it again sometime
