Welcome to another installment of my challenge and reminder to myself to take photos somewhat regularly. I went through past photo challenges and came up with a list of prompts at the beginning of the year and am trying to find opportunities to take pictures of these things each week. These were the prompts I assigned myself for the past couple weeks:
September Prompts - Everyday Images #18
~~~~~
house (quarterly)
muted
ink
lock
corner
checked
~~~~~
house (quarterly) - I remembered to take the photo on a bright sunny day!
muted - As we drove across the bridge from Ontario to Michigan, I snapped a quick photo through the car window. I chose it for "muted" because that's how the colors turned out with the cloudy sky and it shows an attractive skyline view of Detroit. The parts we drive through are not particularly attractive, shall we say, so this is a nice contrast.
ink -
lock -
corner - I found this really nice room divider screen by the trash compactor! It does have a bit of the lattice damaged but other than that it's in great shape, and it's a solid piece. The only trouble is figuring out where I want to put it. It's temporarily creating an extra corner near the door.
checked - new pajamas
And a few bonus photos, all for the 2023 Summer Scavenger Hunt hosted by Patio Postcards. This Scavenger Hunt began on June 1st, and I found it a couple weeks ago. So all my photos were taken between June 1st and today:
1. A plant/tree with thorn(s)
2. A wordless directional sign
3. Something netted or webbed
4. Something berry berry delicious - I'm not sure how delicious these berries are to humans, but I suspect birds probably would enjoy them.
5. A bridge
6. A school
7. Something that dangles - I just loved the Edison style light bulbs that dangled above the path at one of the Metro parks.
8. Some shadows
9. A crack or pothole in the road or sidewalk
10. A white flower(s)
11. Extraordinary water - a water feature at Franklin Park Conservatory
12. Summer tools - I could think of nothing more summery than a grill and grilling tools.
13. A Sold or For Sale sign (not necessarily a house)
14. Something that rolls - This wagon may not actually roll, but it's meant to look as if it could.
This post will be linked in the final Scavenger Hunt link-up post for the season at Patio Postcards―on Monday, October 2nd, if I'm not mistaken. I may even come back and add a couple of the photos that I'm still missing!
I am sharing my photos every other Tuesday, along with my prompts for the next two weeks. You can use all or some of the prompts for your own photo posts, or none of the prompts and just link up a post featuring your photos. Simple rules: Your posts must be family-friendly; the photos must be your own; and the post must be mostly photos. If you do share I'd appreciate a mention and link to A Fresh Cup of Coffee on your post.

Fabulous photos for the word prompts! I particularly like your photo for 'shadows'! I love participating in photo challenges, often doing the Fat Mum Slim Photo a Day challenge, but haven't had enough time in recent months unfortunately!
ReplyDeleteThanks - I really like photo challenges, as long as they're suitable for total amateurs! It can be hard to keep up though. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteI love the photo of the bridge, Kym! Actually, all of your photos are wonderful, but I love bridges (just not crossing them).
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week!

I feel the same way about bridges - lovely to look at but not always to cross. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteGreat photos for the prompts Kym! We have a family Word a Week photo challenge which is always a great way to look around for photos and it's amazing what you find!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a fun family challenge. I agree, photo challenges help us see the world from a different perspective and make it interesting! Glad you stopped by and commented!
DeleteYou did a great job with your scavenger hunt photos! I really like your "ink" photo too. Sometimes it's so hard to photograph those everyday items in an interesting way.
ReplyDeletethank you - that ink one was a last minute idea so I was just glad it turned out! Yes, everyday objects (like the lock) are sometimes a real challenge. Glad you stopped by and commented!
DeleteTerrific photos. I have had a photo post in the works since April!! Ha!! I get frustrated when something 'pretty' doesn't present itself for 'school' or 'bridge' so I just don't take anything. Which isn't the point at all. I am my own worst enemy. Ha!! I would love to join you for everyday images. Will you be continuing it in the new year? Will try to find images for your September prompts and join you in October, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat find in that room divider. I don't see a thing wrong with it. Love your capture for net. What a little chunk caught up in that climbing rope or net. The shadows photo is lovely, too. Great job, my friend. You have inspired me.
Oh I would love to have you join in as you can! I think I will continue this challenge next year. It's good for me so I might as well invite others to join me.
DeleteI was so pleased to find that divider - now I just need to figure out where and how to use it! The little one caught in the "web" is my one-year-old granddaughter, and my six-year-old granddaughter is playing in the shadows.
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!
Fabulous photos! I especially love the one of the pumpkins on the wheelbarrow - it's got all the autumn feels!
ReplyDeleteYes, I saw that at the conservatory and wished I could recreate it in my yard - except I don't even have a yard right now! thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteThat is an impressive response to the prompts Kym!! It was great to see link up your blog post this week at Denyse’s Words and Pics for #WWandPics. Thank you for being part of the community. Warm wishes and appreciation from Denyse.
