Everyday Images #5

Welcome to my another installment of my challenge and reminder to myself to take photos somewhat regularly. I went through past photo challenges and came up with a list of prompts at the beginning of the year and am trying to find opportunities to take pictures of these things each week. These were the prompts I assigned myself for the past couple weeks:

house (quarterly) - If I'm not mistaken, the mulch had just been done a few days before, so it looks very tidy, doesn't it? I do wish I had a "front porch" instead of the partially enclosed patio, but I'm planning to put a bird feeder on a shepherd's hook outside my dining room window (the lower window in the brick wall) in hopes of attracting a few birds to where I can see them.

clock - I was starting to be annoyed with myself for not bringing along a clock with hands, and then I remembered I did have this one. Just need to hang it up now.

green - the moss at the base of this tree

favorite - three of my favorite coffee mugs

wet and/or dry - we went on a short nature walk on Sunday afternoon and saw birds in wet and dry habitats. This mallard in the small lake, and this downy woodpecker at a feeder.

kitchen - This is my kitchen in a generally tidy state. Sometimes it's neater, and sometimes there are more dishes stacked beside the sink. Those track lights in the center look attractive, but I don't think anyone who actually uses a kitchen approved the design. Can you guess why?

And a few bonus photos:

I liked this nighttime shot of my front door, until I realized that my recycling was sitting out there.

Enjoyed Skyline Chili with my son last Monday.

Fun on the nature walk - Poppy and Vee prodding the hidey-hole under the tree to check if any little people lived there.

Even though zooming in produces only a blurry shot of the birds, I like the cardinal's bright pop of red color in the otherwise drab background. Can you spot them?

No birds (that I'm aware of) in this photo, just a blue, blue sky.

Signs that spring has sprung!

I am sharing my photos every other Tuesday, along with my prompts for the next two weeks. You can use all or some of the prompts for your own photo posts, or none of the prompts and just link up a post featuring your photos. Simple rules: Your posts must be family-friendly; the photos must be your own; and the post must be mostly photos. If you do share I'd appreciate a mention and link to A Fresh Cup of Coffee on your post.

  1. I enjoyed seeing the photos you chose for the prompts. Your place looks lovely. I did a bird feeder this year. My son got it for me last Christmas or before so I finally put it out. We don't usually get any birds, but I did get some Cardinals. Bluejays, and a Nuthatch (I think that was it lol) as well as all the others yard birds.
