Scripture and a Snapshot - Comfort

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

~II Corinthians 1:3-5~

  1. I have been thinking about this verse lately, contemplating the truth that Paul saw his ability to comfort others as a valid purpose for his suffering. This is a TRUE body-of-Christ mentality!

  2. No one can comfort like those who have been comforted in their own suffering. It helps to think our suffering is not just for ourselves, but to help others.

  3. Great scripture to remind to not just soak up His comfort to ourselves, but to be aware of others in need of some comfort and pray for them as well. :)
