It's certainly starting to feel like spring, at least during the day. We had some cold days recently, and frost on a couple of mornings. And the early spring flowers I had outside my door didn't make it through the recent cold snap and snow. But yeah, thankfully it's warming up and seems like it wants to stay warmer.
It's hard to say which I prefer, so I'll say spring since I'm enjoying it right now. If you ask me the same question in September or October, I'll say autumn! What I love about spring includes the new growth of greening up of trees and plants, the flowers (tulips and daffodils are a couple of my most favorite flowers, along with apple and cherry blossoms), and the feeling of hope and expectation for the even warmer days and the vacation possibilities on the horizon.
I kind of just answered that, didn't I. That will teach me to read all the questions on the test before answering any. I'll elaborate a little on the last thing I said - spring is a time of newness and hope and possibilities, and that's what I like most. It encompasses the new leaves budding on trees and all the flowers beginning to bloom, because those are reminders of life and creativity and beauty. Passover and Resurrection Day are celebrations of hope and joy and all the good things still to come.
3. Spring into action, spring in your step, spring to life, spring to one's feet . . . which spring idiom currently applies to your life in some way? Explain.
"Spring into action" - the to-do list is long right now, and I need to spring into action to start checking things off the list! Especially when it comes to house-hunting. We're in a short waiting period right now but we'll be ready to put in offers soon, and then we'll really be springing into action in order to find and win the bid on the right house for us, and be ready to make the move.
Eggs are my favorite from this list. I love egg salad and omelets and souffles, and eggs are necessary for cooking and baking! Right now, I'm thinking how good a cheese omelet would be. And also thinking that I should have boiled some eggs for egg salad, which I guess I'll have to do tonight.
Cleaning out and reorganizing the pantry. I should have done this when we put the Christmas tree box away way back in January, but I just "tidied" and called it good. I haven't made an actual list YET, but I will be. I'll have to because I'll be packing and getting ready for an upcoming move, so everything will need cleaned.
This past weekend we went to Blackhand Gorge State Nature Preserve to do a little hiking. Had to make the most of a beautiful warm spring Saturday!

It did start to feel more spring like here.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear! We're all ready for spring! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteIt feels like spring—and then it doesn’t. And then it does again. Here in Saskatchewan, we’re doing the back and forth dance toward warmer days.
ReplyDeleteI remember that dance from growing up in Alberta. LOL Hope it stays feeling like spring soon! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteI have never heard of that nature preserve. I'll have to check that out. I've been to Zainsville or at least near it once but it was a long time ago. I don't recall that bridge- how interesting! Good luck house hunting. It sounds exciting but also potentially stressful. I think inventories are still pretty low due to higher interest rates but the right one will come along! (I have family house hunting right now in IN and it's been quite the experience!). I love eggs, too. They are such a great food in that we need them for baking and they're delicious in a variety of ways to eat!
ReplyDeleteParts of the the trail at Blackhand Gorge were closed for repairs until a couple weeks ago, but it's really nice now, and worth the visit. I've seen the signs about Zanesville being the "Y Bridge City" but hadn't seen the bridge until this weekend. It's right at one end of the downtown. Thanks for the good wishes for our house hunt, and for stopping by to comment!
DeleteIt sounds like you have been having the same weather as me, warm during the day but chilly on a morning. Spring does feel full of hope.
ReplyDeleteI hope the house hunting goes well.
That looks like a fantastic hike, brilliant photos!
I don't mind it being cool overnight so the chilly mornings don't bother me - although I could do without the frost at this point!
DeleteThanks for stopping by and commentiing!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI too like spring and autumn. I did push spring into the winner of today's question because the garden season gets started for me.
Good luck with your house hunting!
I enjoyed your photos of the hike.
xo
I can see how gardeners would have a fondness for spring. My husband is a greenhouse manager so spring is always so busy for him, which means long hours, so I'm not crazy about that.
DeleteThanks for the good wishes for our house hunt and for stopping by and commenting!
Well that is huge to be anticipating a move. Hope all goes well as you search and choose! Fun hiking photos! Happy Spring and Happy Hodgepodge!

DeleteWe're excited but still feeling a little out of our depth. We have a great realtor helping us though.

Hubs and I are determined to get our attic organized somewhat in this small weather window we currently have. Not too hot yet and not too cold. A move in the near future is exciting and stressful both. Good luck with all the pieces!
ReplyDeleteYes, cleaning an attic requires just the right temperature conditions, doesn't it? That was part of our problem cleaning and organizing our garage in MD.
DeleteExciting and stressful indeed, but we're trying to focus on the exciting part!

I enjoyed my visit!! Great answers!!!! The flowers are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you stopped by - I appreciate your kind comments!
DeleteI have had some warm days, but last week some cool weather with snow. I love the beginning of spring (except mowing season) with all the things coming to life. Good luck on your move and house hunting.
ReplyDeleteHaving to mow might be something I won't like about moving to a new house! LOL

Pretty much the only season I don't like is winter all the rest I end up calling my favorite at some point. Your hike looks lovely! Good luck with the house hunt.
ReplyDeleteI can make a pretty good case for any season being my favorite, but I do have to work at it a little harder for winter. LOL Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteEgg salad when the eggs are still warm & spread on soft bread is my favorite, especially on Fridays during Lent! :) I looked up the park you went to. How sad that the engraving on the cliff was destroyed. :( We had an Indian's Head Rock in the Smoky Mountains (close to where I live) that is pretty much gone now (due to erosion), but there are good memories of seeing it when I was young.
ReplyDeleteIt seemed like the petroglyphs on the cliff were obliterated a very long time ago, but yeah, so sad. I guess nothing lasts forever, even rock carvings?!

So, does the cleaning and packing mean you've found a new home? How exciting! My poor hyacinths were just ready to bloom, and we got snow and cold temperatures. They're just all wilted over. I'm really wondering if they will even make it to next year.

We haven't found one yet, but I'm trying to gear up for when we do.
DeleteSo sad about the flowers that didn't make it through that last bout of cold and snow. I was really disappointed that I only got to enjoy mine for such a short time. Hope your hyacinths surprise you and come back strong next year!

I enjoyed your answers. I love egg salad too, and eggs in all kinds of ways. Loved your photos.
