Everyday Images #81

Welcome to my ongoing challenge and reminder to myself to take photos somewhat regularly. I'm not a photographer, but I enjoy taking everyday photos of things I find interesting or want to remember later, and I'm more likely to notice interesting things when I'm intentionally watching for them. Having some prompts that are open to interpretation has helped me pay a little more attention to what's around me. Here's how it works: Every two weeks I have a few words and phrases to focus on, and I try to find opportunities to take pictures of these things each week. The link-up post will be here every other Thursday, sharing my photos and offering a link-up for participants to share theirs. Right below the link-up is where you'll find the next set of prompts.

middle - I had trouble with this prompt! This is a run-off pond in the "middle" between the two driveways and parking lots at work. There are usually quite a few birds around, including Canada geese and green herons.

at work - this little cartoon on my bulletin board to make me smile

shadow - not taken on Groundhog Day, but close. Six weeks more winter it is.

weathered - spotted at Old 42 Antiques - wouldn't this be pretty on a little patio?

pink - I have so few pink things in my house that I just settled for a photo of a highlighter! LOL

current project (quarterly) - I have been working on purging a lot of files and reorganizing stuff. This is the staging area while I was sorting. The box under the envelopes is the extra hanging file folders so now I can finish this project!

sweet - popcorn! I guess more specifically, the popcorn we bought to try, which is in the next photo . . . the blue corn is supposed to be sweet. I'll let you know when we try it!

 And a few bonus photos:

Not many photos during the past couple weeks, mostly because we so seldom ventured outside and sure didn't spend time outdoors! It was brutally cold during most of this time, and certainly not suitable for outside adventures or walks. Plus the pathways cleared around our apartment didn't always follow the actual sidewalk, so when we got a couple of warmer days and things started thawing, it was just muddy. Yuck. I prefer the snow!

Anyway, we did go out to Plain City a couple weekends ago at the request of our daughter-in-law to celebrate her birthday with a fun shopping trip and buffet dinner. We explored a couple of shops, including the Amish market with the popcorn, and an antique store with some interesting curiosities.

Yeah, I don't know about that one. It's so weird.

We've got giant icicles, and unfortunately as the snow and ice on the rooftops melts, there's the occasional water seepage inside so that's fun. Last weekend we had water coming into our apartment from the unit next door and had to have a carpet blower brought in to dry the corner of our place.

But on the plus side, we've spotted robins!

We had the kids over to watch the SuperBowl. Not that super, to be honest, but our food was good!

Guess it's about time to say good-bye to my poinsettia.

Any ideas what I should make for dinner tonight?

I am sharing my photos every other Thursday, along with my prompts for the next two weeks. You can use all or some of the prompts for your own photo posts, or none of the prompts and just link up a post featuring your photos. Simple rules: Your posts must be family-friendly; the photos must be your own; and the post must be mostly photos. If you do share I'd appreciate a mention and link to A Fresh Cup of Coffee on your post.

The Everyday Images link-up is posted every other Thursday, and is open for two weeks.

  1. Oh no, so sorry to hear that you had some minor problems with water. We had some HUGE icicles this year but they all melted yesterday and we thankfully haven't noticed any water coming in anywhere.
