Scripture and a Snapshot - Whom Shall I Fear

The LORD is my light and my salvation―
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life―
of whom shall I be afraid?

One thing I ask from the LORD,
this only do I seek;
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.

Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the LORD.

~Psalm 27:1, 4-6~

In memory and honor of faithful servant Charlie Kirk, who is now present with the LORD he loved, and among the great cloud of witnesses cheering us on. May we follow his example of courage and compassion and godly purpose, trusting that the LORD will keep us safe in his dwelling also.

  1. Though our loss of Charlie is great, I’m thankful He’s beholding the Lord’s beauty in person. May God raise up many like him.

  4. Sometimes news like this doesn’t reach us here in Europe (yes a bit but there is also other Europe news your know), but reading your post helps me carry something of it with me. I’m touched by the reminder of Psalm 27 — that even in loss, the Lord is our light and stronghold. Thank you for sharing these words; they point me back to His faithfulness

  6. Those first two questions stop me in my tracks: Whom shall I fear? Of whom shall I be afraid?

  7. Beautiful! Man may do things to our bodies, but they can never touch the soul that is trusting in God. Charlie is safe. And one day, we will be, too.
