Everyday Images #61

Welcome to another installment of my challenge and reminder to myself to take photos somewhat regularly. I'm not a photographer, but I enjoy taking everyday photos of things I find interesting or want to remember later, and I find that I notice interesting things when I'm intentionally watching for them. Having some prompts that are open to interpretation has helped me pay a little more attention to what's around me. Every two weeks I have a few words and phrases that I'm focusing on, and I try to find opportunities to take pictures of these things each week.

colorful - Chiluly glass at Franklin Park Conservatory

selfie (quarterly) - when I do a selfie with my hubby, I pretty much always let him hold the camera. He has a little bit longer reach so the angle is a bit better. That's my confession. I didn't actually take the selfie, but my phone was in selfie mode and I'm in the photo so I'm counting it.

perspective - what a difference the perspective and cropping made to these photos from the Tulip Festival. I had to get low and crop in to get the first photo, and the wider angle in the second photo makes the blooms look quite sparse.

garden - these plants at the greenhouse are just about ready to go home to someone's garden!

And a few bonus photos:

We met my cousin for breakfast a couple weeks ago - I hadn't seen him in about thirty years!

Some photos from the Tulip Festival at Timbuk Farms. Once again, we went near the end of the color, but it was still so pretty.

We went to the soft opening of a new restaurant. Or at least, a new location for the restaurant. So good! Elliott's Wood-Fired Pizza, if you're in central Ohio and want to check them out.

Lots of rainy days lately.

On Sunday we went to Franklin Park Conservatory. Always enjoy seeing the Chiluly glass, the palm house, the bonsai, and especially the butterflies!

The weather cleared up while we were there so we were happy to see the childrens garden too.

While in the palm house, hubby and I took some silly selfies.

I am sharing my photos every other Thursday, along with my prompts for the next two weeks. You can use all or some of the prompts for your own photo posts, or none of the prompts and just link up a post featuring your photos. Simple rules: Your posts must be family-friendly; the photos must be your own; and the post must be mostly photos. If you do share I'd appreciate a mention and link to A Fresh Cup of Coffee on your post.

Everyday Images will continue in 2025, every other Thursday, and the link-up is open for two weeks.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  2. I need to look up Chiluly glass. Gosh, it is beautiful. Enjoyed the great shots of the butterflies. And those chunky rocking chairs are really nice. I let PC hold the camera when we are taking selfies, too. But I still count them as selfies. Interesting shots for perspectives. I need to get busy on my photo post!!

    1. Dale Chiluly - I think that's the first name. A glass artist - lots of his work is at the Franklin Park Conservatory and the Columbus Museum of Art so perhaps he has a local connection. I don't remember! I've also seen Chiluly glass art at the Phipps Conservatory on Pittsburgh. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, and I look forward to seeing your photos!
