Everyday Images #52

Welcome to another installment of my challenge and reminder to myself to take photos somewhat regularly. I'm not a photographer, but I enjoy taking everyday photos of things I find interesting or want to remember later, and I find that I notice interesting things when I'm intentionally watching for them. Having some prompts that are open to interpretation has helped me pay a little more attention to what's around me. Every two weeks I have a few words and phrases that I'm focusing on, and I try to find opportunities to take pictures of these things each week.

December Prompts - Everyday Images #52
~~~~~
No prompts this time! Instead I'm sharing collages of my quarterly and monthly photos from the past year, and a few recent bonus photos.
~~~~~
I tried to have this all ready but got busy with other things and the collages were taking longer than I'd planned. Here are the couple I have now and I will come back and update the post to include the rest!

at home (monthly)

weather (quarterly)

Updated to include the rest:

doorway (quarterly)

selfie (quarterly)

yard (quarterly)

at work (quarterly)

season (quarterly)

And a few bonus photos:

I am sharing my photos every other Tuesday, along with my prompts for the next two weeks. You can use all or some of the prompts for your own photo posts, or none of the prompts and just link up a post featuring your photos. Simple rules: Your posts must be family-friendly; the photos must be your own; and the post must be mostly photos. If you do share I'd appreciate a mention and link to A Fresh Cup of Coffee on your post.

Everyday Images will continue in 2025, every other Tuesday, and the link-up is open for two weeks. See you on January 14th!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Share Four Somethings - December 2024

It's time to close out another year of Share Four Somethings. Throughout 2024 we've shared Something Loved, Something Accomplished, Something Improved Upon, and Something Noticed each month. I've also included my Something Read and a little of What's Coming Up Soon. I'm looking forward to continuing to participate in Share Four Somethings 2025 with some slightly different prompts from our hostess. Read on for my December somethings!

Something Loved

Things I'm loving lately include:

Christmas movies and music, Christmas lights, and just all the Christmas season things!

Being together with family and friends! We spent most of Christmas week with all our kids in Maryland, and were able to visit with some friends during our time there as well.

Something Accomplished

I feel like I can count it as an accomplishment that I got all the Christmas shopping done, but if I hadn't left it so late it wouldn't have been such a stressful task!

I performed with a quartet for the first time and I think that's an accomplishment! I was asked to sing bass with a quartet at a holiday gig, as one of their members was on vacation. So it was the holiday music that I was already familiar with, and a small friendly audience. I loved it and had so much fun, and it was a good little taste of working with a quartet instead of the whole chorus. Once I have the time available to put into it, I hope I can be a regular member of a quartet. Until then, I'm happy that I can help as part of the audition quartet at SVC.

Something That Needs Improvement

My diet! I've always tended to be lazy about eating healthy, so it's no surprise that I indulged in my favorite sweets and rich foods over the holidays. I've been at about the same weight for a long time and unsuccessful at losing much, but I wasn't gaining either. Well . . . I gained a couple of pounds over the past month so that's my wakeup call to make some changes. Sigh.

Something Noticed (In our Lives or Around Town)

We make sure to notice and appreciate all the holiday light displays. Here in Columbus . . .

And in Frederick, Maryland. We enjoyed seeing the boats at Carroll Creek again this year.

Something Read

A Christmas Charade by Karla Hocker

Here are the books I'm currently reading:

All of my reading news is at Just A Second if you're interested.

What's Coming Up Soon?

We'll be on our own for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day this year, so we haven't got anything planned other than the hockey game on New Year's Eve. Apparently, the Blue Jackets do fireworks inside after the NYE game so we're looking forward to that!

I'm working on tweaking my blogging schedule (and I use the term loosely!) for the new year, hoping to keep up better with the link-ups I really enjoy. SFS is one of them! I'm continuing to co-host the Wednesday Quotes link-up, which is every second Wednesday, and I'll continue to host Scripture and a Snapshot every Sunday as well. I always include a link-up option in my Everyday Images photo posts, which are every other Tuesday, for anyone who would like to share their photos. Tomorrow's Everyday Images post will be my look back at some favorites from 2024.

Wednesday Quotes is a bi-weekly opportunity for bloggers to share their writing, poetry, photos, or stories inspired by our theme.

Scripture And A Snapshot - Share posts with just a line or two of Scripture and a photo, or share a devotional thought based on Scripture.

Share something in the comments, or share four somethings with the rest of us in the link party!
